The Brixham Pirate Festival is one of Britain’s biggest and most fun festivals that is jammed packed full of wonderful things to see and do. The festival began in 2002 when members of the community decided to create an event to liven up one of the quietist bank holidays of the year. Since then, the festival has grown into one of the world’s biggest pirate gatherings, attracting people from all four corners to take part in a weekend of exciting piratical fun.

Crabfest is both an excellent opportunity for seafood lovers to come together and enjoy some fine tasting crabs. Crabfest has become a vibrant showcase for the fantasic local fishing, food, drink and tourism industries across our unique area. This exciting event includes hands-on cookery demonstrations by award-winning chefs, crab picking masterclasses, crab pot making, live music, activities for the kids and much more.

This takes place in May and is the best music festival in the South West. This weekend’s long event transforms the town with its wonderful variety of genres of mostly free music for all and performed in bars, pubs, restaurants, churches and our main bandstand in Royal Avenue Gardens: the atmosphere really is quite amazing.

Marking the 125th celebration of the Devon County Show, over 2,000 amazing animals, live cookery demonstrations, celebrations of some of our fabulous local produce, the biggest food fair on Devon, arts and crafts, children’s farms, vintage tractors and steam engines, dog shows, craft beers and ciders and so much more.

British Classic Week: the premier classic yacht regatta in the UK. Organised by the British Yacht Club, this annual regatta will mark the 20th edition taking place form the 17th – 24th July. A celebratory occasion for classic boat enthusiasts to enjoy good racing and to spend time with fellow sailors who share the same appreciation of classic yachts, you do not want to miss this iconic event.

This fabulous canine event is a total must if you love our four-legged friends, with a large festival dedicated to dogs and their owners. There are dog displays and demonstrations of agility, obedience and much more. The dogs even have their own swimming pool to allow owners to help boost confidence in the water. Camping and Glamping are available too and live music to enjoy.
Dittisham Regatta: 14th August
This spectacular annual event is jammed packed full of exciting fun for all the family, including rowing, sculling and whaler races to take part in, and a wide variety of child friendly activities including the highly popular Crabbing Competition and children’s obstacle/rowing event, The Plum Challenge. The iconic Quay is full with stalls featuring traditional games, entertainment and plenty of delicious food and refreshments nearby.

The first recorded Dartmouth Regatta was held in 1822 and formally established in 1834. It runs now each year in late August with rowing events, sailing regattas, tennis tournaments, running events and much more. The town is transformed with market stalls and a funfair providing great family fun and entertainment.
Tour of Devon Cycle Race: 6th September
Tour of Devon Cycle Race:
Devon will host Stage Two of the 2021 Tour of Britain with a 115 mile route between Sherford and Exeter. A typically hilly Devon stage including 3,500 metres of ascent, the route will visit the South Hams for the first time since 2012, combining the beautiful south Devon coast with the testing climbs of Dartmoor, before a finish on Queen Street in Exeter city centre.
