In unsure times it is comforting to have some certainty. We have therefore decided to continue our 2020 full Covid-19 refund policy through to this year. As a result, if your holiday is cancelled for any direct Covid-19 reason, either by us or by yourselves, we will refund all monies paid in full. You can therefore book this summer at Mannings Barn in total confidence.
The current lock-down is reducing numbers nationwide significantly, and vaccination and summer weather should further suppress virus numbers such that the government can reopen the economy in a controlled way. We expect self-catering holidays to be operating again from spring and are taking bookings from mid-April. Should we be prevented from opening then our full refund policy will operate.
The South Hams in Devon has one of the lowest infection rates in the country, and we expect that to continue. However the safety of our guests and staff is of paramount importance, and so we are continuing with the Covid-19 precautions we adopted last year.
We will be changing the check-in and check-out times to 5 pm and 9 am respectively. This allows more time for our cleaners to ensure a thorough cleansing of the property, with adequate aerosol settling time between people entering the Barn.
Our cleaners use correct anti-viral materials and give a final anti-viral wipe-down prior to leaving the ventilated property. On arrival guests will be met outside in a friendly but socially distanced manner, and allowed to enter the Barn and settle in. The owners are on hand to answer any queries and resolve any issues that arise.
Guests will be requested to strip beds and bag up the linen and towels. Bags are then taken to our local Eco-laundry, where they are kept for a period before the linen is removed, washed in an approved way, and pressed. This procedure is in place to protect our cleaning staff.
We also request that guests remove any rubbish and surplus items from the property when leaving, and open windows to ventilate it before the cleaners enter.
Anti-viral alcohol based hand sanitizer will be provided at the Barn entrances and visitors are requested to use it at each return to the Barn.
We know that these procedures sound a little onerous, but we trust that guests will understand the need for them in these still uncertain times.
Mannings Barn will at all times comply with government guidelines during the pandemic and we ask all guests to do the same.
Guests should not travel to Mannings Barn if they have Covid-19 symptoms, have had a recent positive test, have been requested to self-isolate or are subject to travel restrictions. This also applies to the rest of the party. Should this happen then a full refund will be made.
Should any of the guests develop Covid-19 symptoms during their stay, or indeed be instructed to self-isolate or receive a positive result of a test, then all of the party will be expected to immediately return home to take appropriate action. Self-isolation in the Barn is not possible. A refund of all unused days will be made. If this unlikely event occurs, the next guests will be informed and the Barn deep cleaned and fogged prior to their arrival.
If guests do not return home but remain in the Barn, any additional costs of cleaning and accommodation will be charged. This may include cancellation costs for the subsequent visitors.
We strongly advise all visitors to take out travel insurance which covers Covid-19 risks.
Naturally if guests develop dangerous symptoms or breathing difficulties, then they must obtain immediate emergency medical assistance.
We remain confident that the South Hams and Mannings Barn will be a safe and enjoyable place for your 2021 spring and summer break, and we hope to welcome you in the near future.
